Pedersen Development Co. Under Contract to Redevelop Boulder's Iconic Golden Buff Lodge into Two Modern Hotels

The Golden Buff Lodge, located on 28th Street and Canyon Boulevard, is currently under contract to be sold to Scott Pedersen of Pedersen Development. According to a pre-application submitted for architectural review to Boulder’s Design Advisory Board (BDAB), the firm expects to redevelop the property to introduce two modern, first-rate hotels.

The plans outline a proposal to transform the Golden Buff Lodge into a 212 room full-service and 137 room extended-stay hotel with modern amenities, a restaurant, underground parking, and 10,000 square feet of meeting & conference space. The façade of the new building, as shown in the architectural renderings, offers a quiet, urban design mixed with green soft walls along the pedestrian areas and courtyards.

In June, Pedersen Development will present concept plans to the City of Boulder’s Planning Board for their initial review. More details about the hotel redevelopment and the sale of the property will be determined as the project moves through the city approval process. For now, the Golden Buff Lodge and The Buff Restaurant will remain open for business as usual.
